Association Tourist Union Strumica – Strumica in partnership with National Community Center “Bratya Miladinovi – 1936” from Bulgaria have started with implementation of the project “The living cultural heritage of two nations on one scene”, with Reference Number CB006.2.23.115.

The project specific objective is to promote cooperation among regional actors in the area of intangible cultural heritage tourism in the Blagoevgrad District of Bulgaria and South-East Region of North Macedonia.

Main aims of the project are:

1. To establish joint network for exchange of good practices in intangible cultural heritage tourism management;

2. Organization of joint cultural events for the promotion of the region`s cultural identity;

3. To create initiatives for preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage tourism;

4. To involve youths to participate in them, in order to raise their awareness on issue related to sustainable utilization and promotion of the region`s intangible cultural heritage.

The following results will be achieved during the one-year period:

1. Developed joint networking online platform for exchange of good practices in the field of sustainable tourism development;

2. Organization of 4 (four) joint cultural events for the promotion of the region`s cultural identity in Mikrevo and Strumica;

3. Creating network “Youths teaching Youths” in Mikrevo and Strumica;

4. Increased awareness about preservation of living cultural heritage.


The project is co-financed by the European Union and the national funds of the participating countries in the Interreg-IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia 2014-2020 (CCI No. 2014TC16I5CB006).
